Our Heritage

In 1949 Frank and Hazel Coker purchased the Albert H. Miller Funeral Home on S. Wright Street in Farwell, MI. They later purchased the Josiah Littlefield Home at the corner of W. Main St and Corning St. in 1952 where they lived and operated the Coker Funeral Home. In 1962 Frank and Hazel added on a large chapel. They purchased the Fanning Funeral Home in Harrison, MI in 1964 and built a new funeral home at the current location of the Stocking Funeral Home on 165 S. Oak St.. Frank and Hazel Coker built a new funeral home in Clare, MI in 1978. They retired in 1980 selling the Harrison Chapel to Gary and Sharon Stocking and the Farwell and Clare Chapels to their son David.

After the death of David W. Coker, Sr in March 2005, the funeral home was purchased from the estate by Paul Campbell and Stacy Stocking. It re-opened in September 2005 as the Campbell - Stocking Family Funeral Home, Inc. The interior has been renovated and updated to meet today's needs while maintaining the flavor of the Victorian style home built by Josiah Littlefield in 1871. The exterior has also been renovated while maintaining the integrity of the period in which the main frame of the house was built.
