Bonnie Jean Lassen- age 90, of Farwell, passed away on December 6, 2020 at Spectrum Health Kelsey Hospital, in Lakeview, Michigan. Bonnie was born on August 29, 1930 in Flint, Michigan, to parents Francis Rex and Birdie Mae (Hillis) Schade. Bonnie was married to Gerald Lassen on July 12, 1950 in St. Johns, Michigan. Soon after, Bonnie and Gerald began building their family of 6 boys and two daughters. Bonnie worked for the State of Michigan at the St. of MI Regional Center in Mt. Pleasant, retiring after 23 years of service. Bonnie loved playing Bingo, travelling, and was very active with the VFW Auxiliary, Lake Eagles, the Farwell Labor Day Committee, the Farwell Historical Committee, and attended church at the Farwell United Methodist Church. Bonnie is survived by her son Mike Lassen and wife Donna of Pennsylvania, daughter Deb Stieg and husband Bill of Mecosta, daughter Mary Strong of Florida, sister Betty and husband John Kehm of Luling LA, stepsister Carolyn Flaugher of MI, twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, sons Edward, Warren “Bud”, David, Donald, and Parley Lassen as well as grandsons, Eddie, and Jeremiah Lassen and granddaughter Tresa Barhitte. A funeral is planned for Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 11AM at the Campbell Stocking Funeral Home in Farwell. Pastor Connie Bongard will officiate with burial in Surrey Twp. Cemetery. Family and Friends may visit on Wednesday, December 9th from 5-8PM. Covid 19 Safety Protocols will be strictly enforced.
