Shirley married William Roy Johnson April 6, 1961. They built their home in Lake George, MI where they raised their son Douglas Anthony Johnson. Shirley was blessed with 3 beautiful grandchildren which she loved very much, William Anthony, Jacob Conner and Julianna Rose who reside in NC.
She loved to bake and operated a bakery with the help of her mother-in-law, Rose Johnson. April 10th Bill and Shirley opened BJ’s Buckhorn Saloon until their retirement. The Buckhorn became very well known for the pizzas and Friday night fish fry. Sometimes the wait for a pizza exceeded 3 hours. A buckhorn pizza was so good people ordered extra to take with them throughout the United States. The furthest one traveled to Hawaii. She enjoyed playing cards, pool, bingo and going to the casinos.
Over the years they met and made many friends and welcomed them as family.
