Township. Mary was born the third child of Horace and Mary Lou (Tice) Bruner in Truman Arkansas on
August 5 th , 1928. Her family then moved to Grand Blank in the late-twenties were her parents built
and operated Grand Blanc Dry Cleaners until their retirement. Mary was a graduate of Grand Blanc High
School. She met who would be the love of her life, Bennie, in Flint and the two of them were married on
June 24, 1945 in Fort Wayne Indiana after Bennie was discharged from Military Service. Together they
raised four children; three boys and a girl, who were all born in Grand Blanc. Mary and Bennie bought
and moved to their home in Osceola County in the mid-seventies after Bennie retired from General
Motors. Having many acres of property allowed them to enjoy their favorite past time of four-wheeling.
They developed trails and bridges everywhere on their property and enjoyed many years of four-
Wheeling together. Mary was an accomplished seamstress, making clothing for her clients. She was well
Known for her wonderful Southern cooking, and was the gathering place for friends and family to come
and enjoy her cooking skills. She leaves to cherish many wonderful memories, her children; Bennie Rix,
Jr. of Georgia, Kenneth Rix and wife Pamela of Lake, Mark Rix and wife Barbara of Burton, Patricia
Loudenslager and husband Jesse of Clare, fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, one
great- great grandchild and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends. She was preceded in
death by her beloved husband Bennie on February 4 th ,2010, three brothers; Harold, Jim, and Al
Bruner, sister Dorothy Mulligan, granddaughter Susanna and daughter in-law, Connie Rix. A funeral
service is planned for Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 12PM, at the Campbell-Stocking Funeral Home in
Farwell. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, April 23 rd from 10AM until the time of service at 12.
Mary will be laid to rest following her service at 3PM in the Maple-Gibson Cemetery in Grand Blanc, MI
