Arleen Marie Hubbard, 86 of Lake George, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. Arleen was born in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, on June 21, 1933 to parents Walter and Loretta (Duross) Hergenroeder. Arleen’s parents owned and operated the Swiss Inn of Lake George, and Arleen grew up in Lake George and the surrounding areas. Upon graduating high school, Arleen worked in healthcare, later she worked primarily as a homemaker during the daytime, raising her four children, but her passion for feeding the hungry led to her involvement with multiple church-run food pantries in the evenings. On July 21, 1987, Arleen was united in marriage to Mr. Donald. E. Hubbard at Heritage USA in North Carolina, in the replica Last Supper, or “Upper Room”. Arleen and Donald traveled between Michigan and Texas, which led to the purchase of what used to be her grandmother’s home years before, in Lake George. Arleen loved to dance.
