Henry was born February 29, 1952 to the late Henry and Hilda (Reed) Curtis, in Ypsilanti, MI. He began working at Complete Glass and Auto Trim in 1986 in Ypsilanti, MI. In 1993 he became partners with Wess Strickland and together they changed the business name to Preferred Auto Glass & Trim. Henry continued working there until his retirement on June 1, 2013. After his retirement, he moved full time to Farwell, MI where he and Jaqueline “Jackie” were owner/operators of The Surrey Motel. When he wasn’t working around the motel, he enjoyed his time working at K’s Diner with Karen.
In his spare time, he could also be found working or hanging out in his garage with his best friends and his best dog, Dusty. Henry loved to refurbish old things, from furniture to antique toys. He also loved to be in his truck snow plowing. He will always be remembered as a man of many trades and a man that would always help his friends and family whenever they needed him.
Dave Clute, Richie Odell and Kevin Lavoye were very special friends to Henry, and he wished to thank them for everything they had done for him over the years and especially towards the end of his fight.
He is survived by his wife of almost 25 years, Jaqueline “Jackie” Curtis, his children Jerome “Jerry” (Rachel) Curtis of Belleville, MI, Melissa (Robert) Espinosa of Howell, MI, Darlene (Michael) Loftis of Chelsea, MI, Samantha (Gregory) Poet of New Boston, MI, Theresa (Joseph) Kirschenbauer of Farwell, MI, Gary (Samantha) Mitchell of Farwell, MI and Michael Kowalski, his siblings, June Aman, Cora (Gerald) Woodruff, Patricia Wilson, Carol Heller, Jan (Heller) Beaudrie and his many grandchildren, nieces and nephew.
