Obituary

Raymond James “Ray” Krancich – Age 64, of Freeland passed away at his summer home in Lake on Saturday, May 23, 2020. Ray was born in Lansing, MI on July 10, 1955 to parents Michael and Phyllis (Coon) Krancich. After high school, Ray joined the United States Naval Construction Battalions, or Seabees. On July 26, 1975, he married Lynne Robison at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Hemlock, and together they raised three daughters. After his honorable discharge from the Seabees, Ray took up truck driving for FedEx Freight. Ray loved woodworking, shooting guns, he was passionate about Trump, and was referred to as the “Pirate of the Lake”, by family and friends, due to his fondness for sailing on his pirate flag emblazoned boat.
Ray will be missed by those surviving him including his wife of nearly 45 years, Lynne Krancich, his children; Theresa (Stephen) Mackey, Miranda (Joseph) Schaumburg, and Helena Krancich and her fiancé Brent Bauer, many grandchildren; Tristan, McKayla, Larissa, Elizabeth, Hunter, Connor, Nicholas, Justin, Sophia, and Lincoln, two sisters; Marsha (Jerry) Ericks, and Brenda Hoover, and a former son in law, Joshua Krancich.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Phyllis Krancich, three brothers: Michael Krancich, Baby Michael, and Jeffrey Krancich, and a brother in law, Leroy Hoover.
A private family-only service will be held for Raymond with a cremation to follow. Please share your memories and condolences online at www.CampbellStocking.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell Stocking Funeral Home, Farwell.
