Wayne Kenneth Newton, age 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at the North Woods Nursing Center in Farwell. He was born in Gadsden, Alabama on August 25, 1940 to parents Joshua Kenneth and Rhoda Elnora (White) Newton. Wayne was united in marriage to Joyce Vogan on November 6, 1958. Wayne enjoyed a variety of hobbies during his lifetime. He especially enjoyed taking his grandson, Jake, hunting. He enjoyed fishing and building model trains. He was a lifelong member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriner’s. Wayne retired as a deputy sheriff. He was involved in the Explorer’s program, and the Marine division.

Wayne is survived by the love of his life, Joyce Newton, his daughter, Deanna Newton, and his grandson, Jake. Wayne was preceded in death by a daughter, Leslie Newton, and his parents, Joshua and Rhoda Newton. A private visitation and graveside service are planned in Wayne’s honor. His daughter, Rev. Deanna Newton will officiate. He will be laid to rest in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare.
