David Jon LaBelle’s earthly song came to an end on January 1, 2021 with his family by his side. He fought a long courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis and will always be remembered as an intrepid warrior. David’s song began on December 11, 1984 in Midland, MI where he was born to Garry and Holly LaBelle.
From a young age he developed a love of music and he began to demonstrate his God-given musical talent. He began his musical tour with the piano followed by the clarinet and guitar. He then mastered more complex instruments that became part of his musical repertoire. He enjoyed listening to and playing many different genres of music. David entertained many people at a variety of places such as the Farwell Senior Center, the American Legion, hospitals during his admissions, open mic nights, and the Farwell Church of Christ where he attended. Through his music he formed an ensemble of friends whom he loved and treasured.
David is preceded in death by his sister Jennifer Fra LaBelle, father Garry Jon LaBelle, grandparents: Dale Wysong, Jack and Verna LaBelle, and Kay and Ray Chamberlain. Also preceding David were uncles: Todd Wysong, Dennis Chamberlain, Lynn Chamberlain, and his beloved dog Simon.
He is survived by his devoted mother Holly LaBelle, his loving step-mom Vicki LaBelle, brother MacLaen LaBelle, sisters Ellie LaBelle and Rachael Evans, along with 2 nieces and 1 nephew, and Grandmother Betty Wysong. He will be missed by many uncles, aunts, cousins, his church family and countless friends.
A funeral service is scheduled for January 7th, 2021 at the Campbell Stocking Funeral Home in Farwell, Michigan followed by burial in Surrey Twp. Cemetery. Pastor Mike Waugh will officiate.
