Ernest Leroy (Lee) Eisenhauer – Age 83 of Farwell passed away at MidMichigan Regional Medical Center in Midland on March 5, 2021. Lee was born to parents Earl Ernest and Doris Louise (Ackerman) Eisenhauer in Farwell, MI on March 20, 1937. After graduating Farwell High School in 1956, Lee married Nancy Ruth Waite at the Clare Methodist Church on October 26, 1957. During high school, Lee worked at Swopes Grocery store downtown Farwell, later called Hawks Grocery. He then worked after high school at Clare Packing, Hilliard Drilling, Maness Petroleum Labs for 9 years and then for Dow Corning as a pipefitter and welder, retiring after 29 years. He was an active life member of Warren Lodge # 427 of Coleman, joined John Q Look Lodge in 1962 where he served as W.M. 3 times, was a 32nd degree life member of Bay City Consistory, Elf Khurafeh Shriners, Harrison Chapter 408 O.E.S., and served at Zenobia Chapter #129 as Worthy Patron 25 times. He also coached Little League. Lee loved hunting and fishing, especially on his own lake called Lake Minnow, as well as Lake Huron and Lake Michigan, and enjoyed vacationing in Ellenton, Florida.
Lee is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Nancy, two sons: Thomas and wife, Donna Eisenhauer of Washington, Michael Eisenhauer of Colorado, as well as 3 grandchildren, Ashley, Kyle and Adam.
He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Lee Eisenhauer, his infant daughter, Julie Ann Eisenhauer, as well as his parents, Earl and Doris Eisenhauer, and a sister, Susan Newburry.
Honoring his wishes, a cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at the Farwell United Methodist Church on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM, with a graveside Masonic service and burial to follow at Gilmore Township Cemetery. Dear Nancy,
I am saddened to hear of Ike's passing! He was a guy I liked from the first time we met. Both of us worked at Dow Corning and I, often, talked with him there. He always had a smile on his face when we met and I will always remember that. May God bless you and your family!
